Learn all about the Patch 1.03 and the importance of our fans' feedback

The release of the Patch 1.03 is just around the corner and the 20th of December will bring joy in the heart of many of our fans with important changes in the 2v2 mode, and several other fixes.
To celebrate that, Jon Murphy, Pro Evolution Soccer Guru, has kindly accepted to answer some of your questions about the game and the changes to come, while thanking all the players for their support and feedback.

1) The Patch 1.03 will be released on the 20th of December. What can you tell us more about it?
The key advance, is a full extension of the 2v2 mode, which was highest on the fans’ wish list. Although it was there before, it wasn’t really what the fans expected so Konami have used this new update to make some key changes. The overall balance of the game has also been addressed, and Konami have also taken the opportunity to make a few aesthetic improvements here and there, with the movement of players now enhanced and a number of new goal celebrations added. Konami have also rectified a couple of small issues with MLO and some of the Online Modes in line with requests from the fan base.
2) The 2v2 is obviously the biggest fix of the 1.03 patch. Can you explain us a bit more about this change?
Let’s face it, PES 2013 is a stunning multi-player experience, and konami are extremely pleased with how the FCS team has responded to the demands of the fan base. While there was an acceptable 2v2 mode in the game, the team has worked to improve core elements to make it even more intuitive and to make it closer to the single-player experience, with better player switching.
3) The Black Boots and Auto-save features have been also fixed in the previous patch, thanks to our fans' feedback. How important do you consider our customer's opinions?
They are vital. It is because of fan support that konami have made such huge steps with the PES series in recent years. When konami do something right, they tell us. If konami get it wrong, they offer support and suggestions – and konami would be mad to ignore them.
Konami have an enviable number of avenues where konami can receive fan feedback, and konami thank them for their dedication and enthusiasm. Their support is vital to the evolution of the series. It may take time to address everything, konami are constantly trying!

4) Could you tell us about what is coming in the future?
Having addressed the key 2v2 issue that was top of the fans’ list, konami still have a number of elements that konami, and they, feel need attention. Konami will let you know more very soon…
5) Are you using the app myPES 2013 and what do you think about it?
I’m split between Japan and the UK a lot, so my game hours are horribly limited right nw. I have used it a couple of times, and think that it is one of the more under-rated parts of the game: it’s a simple way to get mates together for games, and extremely user-friendly. Konami are seeing a lot of growth in its use, too, and also have some superb advances in mind as konami constantly look to enhance its use.
6) Just for our fans, can you tell us what is your favourite team and favourite mode in Pro Evolution Soccer 2013?
I’m a Chelsea fan, so can often be seen handing out hammerings in the guise of London FC. And I’m a huge fan of playing 2v2 in the office – working as a team to break down an opponent really brings out your competitive streak.

Now that you know what is coming up, get your friends ready because the 2v2 mode, as you knew it, is back next week. And like Jon Murphy said, your feedback are extremely important to us so keep commenting about Pro Evolution Soccer on our Facebook page so konami can offer you the best football game!

create a league in myPES 2013 and play with your friends

Now that you know how to create a myPES 2013 account and link it to Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 (if you forgot, you can have a look at our FAQ on the subject), it is time to help you creating leagues within the app.
How to create a league in myPES 2013?
Creating a league is very simple and Konami will explain it to you in four different steps: creating a league, setup, playing the match, managing the app.
Creating a League
  • Access myPES 2013 app and select the "League" tab, on the top right part of the app.
  • Click on "Create", choose a name for your league, write a description, select a logo, and click on "Create".
  • You will now see your league appearing on your "League" screen.
  • Now, simply click on "Invite" and send an invitation to your friend so they can join your league.
The first thing you need to play league is friends, and the best thing about leagues in myPES 2013 is that you can play either online or offline.
If you are playing online, then you just need to make sure your opponents have linked their myPES 2013 account to PES 2013, and joined your league. If you need a reminder on how to create a myPES 2013 account, please check our FAQ.
If you are playing offline, you need your friends next to you, and your console or PC connected to the Internet so the game can update your stats on myPES 2013. If you are 6 to play, you need to have 6 different myPES 2013 accounts, all connected to a different profile in the Personal Data Settings, like explained in our previous myPES FAQ. Remember to assign a different name to each Personal Data, to find your friends accounts more easily.
Now that everything has been setup, it is time to play some football.
Playing the match
  • To play a game, go to the MATCH menu and select Exhibition match.
  • On the Home and Away menu, use the LB/RB buttons for the Xbox 360 and PC, or L1/R1 buttons for the PS3 to select the Profile of both players. Make sure they are both correctly connected to a myPES 2013 account, and the Facebook settings turned ON.
  • You can now play your match. When you are finished, make sure to wait until the screen displays the message about "Uploading the data to myPES".
Managing the app
  • After the match have been played, go to the myPES 2013 app on Facebook and click on the "Games" tab on the top right of the app.
  • You should see the game you have just played.
  • Click on "Assign to a League" and select the league you created.
  • Repeat the process with each match you played with your friends and you will be able to see who is leading the league and compare your stats.
Now that you know how to create a league, call your friends right now and start playing so you can, once and for all, put an end to your endless debate "Who is the best PES player".

A lot of our players are concerned on how exactly our courtesy level works, and what actions can be taken against cheaters. To help clarify the issue, Konami wish to give our players some insight into some of the details of our courtesy level. Please bear in mind that this is as much information as Konami  an make public, however Konami have more systems in place to both detect and deal with cheaters that Konami cannot make public, as to avoid users trying to override our system.
Disconnection rate and Fair play
Before Konami explain courtesy levels, Konami have to define disconnection rates and fair plays, which help define each tier in our courtesy level rating system.
  • Disconnection rates:
The last 50 matches played are taken into consideration to calculate the disconnection rate as follows.
Completed Matches
Slightly High

  • Fair Play:
After each match, players can choose to give a "Fair play" award when they feel their opponent has played the match without the use of any exploits or cheats. This is only awarded when both players give a "Fair Play" award, and not just one.

Courtesy Level
Taking into consideration Disconnection Rates and Fair Play awards, our courtesy level is then calculated:
Courtesy Level
Fair Play
Over 300
Slightly High

The Fair Play awards will be saved over time in your account, no matter what courtesy level you currently have, but they will only be used to determine your courtesy level when you have a courtesy level of A or higher (i.e: when you have a low disconnection rate in your last 50 matches).

Effects of low Courtesy Level
When a player has a low Courtesy Level, some limitations to his account will be set into place.
  • Courtesy level B:
Players will only be matched against other players with a courtesy level of B or lower.
  • Courtesy level C:
Some online features will be restricted until a higher courtesy level is achieved:
- They will not be able to participate in Online Competitions.
- They will not be included in Player Rankings.
- They will not be able to participate in Rival Rankings.
Furthermore players will be matched against other players with a Courtesy Level of C until their Courtesy Level increase.

Konami have also set up an alert system to make players aware of when their Courtesy Level is about to drop to C.
  • When a player has only managed to complete 37 of the last 50 matches, a message will be displayed warning him that he is close to dropping to Courtesy Level C.
  • When a player has dropped to Courtesy Level C, he will be shown a message informing him each time he logs in and each time he completes a match.

Reporting Players
You can contact the relevant Customer Support team for your region and report players who have either used a cheat, used offensive or harassing language, or interrupted an online session illegally, so our team can investigate the situation and taken the appropriate actions.
Please note that only reports that include the following can be taken into consideration for an investigation:
  • Name of the player being reported
  • Game platform on which the match occurred
  • A screenshot of the match where the name of both players are shown and in the case of verbal abuse, it should also show an example of the incident itself.
Unfortunately our teams will not be able to take any action if any of the previous items are missing.
Konami hope this has helped solve some of the questions you had about our online cheating system and remember that you are always welcome to contact our teams either on Facebook or on our Customer Service channels if you need any help or information. Konami will be more than happy to give you a hand if Konami can!

PES 2013 Update: Issues with Matchmaking by rating

Update: Issues with Matchmaking by rating

We are glad to inform customers that in Ranking Match and Master League Online Quick Matches, we have been able to identify the causes as to why you were being paired with users with a rating outside the rating band shown on screen.

We did take measures so that the rating of opponents customers are paired with are more in line with the displayed band during regular maintenance on 20/11/2012.
However, this still has not fixed the issue fully and we will be taking further steps so that the matchmaking is fully accurate.

Any further updates on issue will be posted on to this site.
Konami would like to apologies for all inconveniences caused in meantime.

The new patch due in early December 2012
The new patch features:

1)Fixes to the below issues. Konami would like to apologise for all inconveniences caused.

Master League Online
*The transfer fee and contract fee shown when signing a player is different to the one shown in the breakdown of such costs.
 * Changes to the squad and the team funds were not reflect immediately when signing/releasing players or receiving gate receipts from matches played.

Master League
*Sometimes the game would freeze when items obtained in Master League Online were used.

*It was impossible to complete the [Long-pass] training when Pass Assistance level was set to either [0] or [1].
*It was impossible to complete the [Manual-pass] training when the cursor was set to [fixed] when using Personal Data other than [no.1].

*Sometimes the game would freeze when importing PES 2012 data. This applies to cases where implementing the data would result in players switching to wearing boots which were issued in PES 2012 Data Pack 3.

*When new Data Pack was implemented, users were forced to resart their hardware as a message informing  them of non-matching Data Pack versions would be displayed rendring some game features such as Master League Online, Competition and the Widget inaccessible.

2) The below additions due to customer requests:

*Users can now chose to enable or disable the Auto Save feature in game modes including Master League and Become a Legend by selecting [System] then [Auto Save] in order.

Football Life
*Players will wear boots which are unique to them in both Master League and Become a legend. Any editing done to player's boot settings will also be reflected. However, please note that this only applies to save data created after the implementation of this patch file.

Football Life
*Changes have been made to how teamwork levels between players increase.

3) General improvements to other modes to improve overall gaming experience.

The details of patch 1.02 are as listed above.

In addition to these issues, we are also aware of the below.
the exact causes are currently under investigation:

1) Customers can be paired with users they added to the match Block List.
2) Sometimes, the bonus prize money earned after a Special match can be shown as being 0.
3) In Inter-Community Matches, customers are sometimes unable to substitute COM controlled players.
4) If you play a 2 vs 2 match in Ranking match, but then try to play Master league Online and any other one player online matches without deleting the guest user, no matchmaking will take place.

Master League Online

5) After matches, customers may be returned back to the Online main menu. An error message stating that an unexpected problem in communication with the PES 2013 server is then displayed.

For the issues, any updates will be posted on this site.
Konami can also report that the below issues were also fixed during maintenance on 13/11/2012

6) Courtesy level does not recover despite completing matches in the correct manner.

PES 2013 Player value wrongly displayed in MLO

Player value wrongly displayed in MLO

We have discovered that the market value of players when signing and releasing them
are displayed incorrectly under the below circumstances:

*If the value of the player including the transfer fee and the contract fee
4,200,000,000 yen.

However, please also note that this only affects customers who chose the [yen] as their
currency unit.

In such a case :

Wrong amount: Shown in Large numbers on the top of the screen

Correct amount: the total of the Transfer fee and the Contract fee shown below. (in the breakdown section)

Please note that value of players shown in the [Breakdown section] changes in real-time and thus there may be

marginal difference in the player's market value when you actually sign or release him.

This is an issue we hope to fix with a new patch.

Any updates to the situation will be posted on this site.
konami would like to apologies for any inconveniences caused.
